Dustin began racing at the young age of 3 years old in BMX where he raced for 7 years racking up multiple local, state, and regional championships. At the age of 10 he started his driving career in the IKF Series racing Go-Karts. In 2000 he went undefeated winning his first motor sports championship.
In 2002 Dustin started racing Legend Cars. By 2004 at the age of 15 Dustin was the guy to beat anywhere we went. Winning 44 of 55 races that year Dustin made his mark in the west coast racing scene winning 7 championships in 1 year (Bullring @ LVMS Track champion, INEX Nevada State Oval Champion, INEX Nevada State Road Course Champion, INEX Young Lions National Champion, INEX Legend Car Nationals Champion, INEX Race of Champions Champion, and the INEX Legend Car World Finals Champion. And to top the season Dustin was awarded the Bilstein Shocks Madonna Award, A prestigious award given out once a year to one individual who most exemplifies the spirit of racing.
In 2005 at the age of 16 Dustin stepped up his game and began racing double duty racing a full season in the NASCAR Late Model Series and INEX Legends Pro Division. By seasons end Dustin Again proved to be the guy to beat winning 10 of the 18 Legend Car races securing him once again the Legend Car Championship, This time as a Pro. And winning 5 Late Model races he was Runner-up for the Championship and won Rookie of the year. By Mid season Dustin had gained the attention of West Coast Short Track Legend Dick Cobb.
By seasons end Dustin was presented with the opportunity to drive for Dick Cobb Racing Enterprises for the 2006 season in a NASCAR Super Late Model. By the end of 2006 season with 15 top tens, 9 top fives, and 1 win, once again secured Dustin another Rookie of the year this time in the premiere division. By seasons end Dustin had again gained the attention of 1970’s NASCAR BUCSH GRAND NATIONAL driver Doc Faustina. With Faustina on board with Dick Cobb and a few members of the South Point Craftsman Truck team we decided to make a run at the 2007 Super Late Model Championship at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring.
As a little bonus at season’s end an offer came his way to drive an open wheeled Thunder Roadster at the 2006 INEX World Finals at Infineon Raceway. And once again Dustin left Infineon Raceway a two time World Champion, This time in a Thunder Roadster. A surprise offer came Dustin’s way early in 2007 when a new West Coast Driver Development team Speed Wong Racing offered Dustin a ride in a few selected Super Late Model races at the famed LA’s ½ Mile Irwindale Speedway.
This was an opportunity Dustin had been looking for, A chance to get on a bigger track with more horsepower. Dustin is also very active in community and charity events. Once a year Dustin visits a local children’s hospital where brings one or more of his race cars for kids to sit in Dustin was quoted in the news one year “ I do this in hopes of giving the kids something else to think about other than the reason they are here at the hospital” He has also gone out with other race car drivers in a local race track pace car to deliver MEALS ON WHEELS to senior citizens. Twice a year he goes to area elementary schools with his race cars and reads to the children, and to spread the message of how important education and reading is. This year marks his fourth annual Speedway Children’s Charities Race-a-thon. Dustin has spearheaded this entire fund raiser where he has raised thousands of dollars and donated it to Speedway Children’s Charity who in turn distributes the funds to area charities like Ronald McDonald House, Shade Tree Shelter, Candlelighters, Childhood Cancer, Etc. Dustin is currently enrolled at Community College of Southern Nevada, where he plans to get a degree in engineering.
